30 More Days ‘Til…Spring!

Well hello there! I don’t know where you are in the world, but where I am, it’s a cold, snowy day. I know it has been such a long time since I have put up a new post. I could say I have been busy, but to be honest, I’ve chosen other things to do. But this snowy day has created the perfect motivation for me to get back into the blogging world and think about spring! So for today’s post I’m going to show some spring trends and where you can get them.

1) Saddle Bags!

I am probably most excited about this trend, considering how much I love all sorts of bags. This purse is so cute, not too big or too small, and perfect to keep your daily essentials in. But it’s also $1,400. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/chloe-medium-marcie-leather-crossbody-bag/3822709?cm_cat=datafeed&cm_ite=634267_1&cm_pla=women:bags:handbag&cm_ven=Google_Product_Ads_pla_online&mr:referralID=7769a966-b7b6-11e4-82f7-001b2166c2c0

So I found an alternative that’s just as cute!

It’s from Daily Look and is more affordable at $49.99. So whether you want to splurge or save, I think this style of bag is a must-have for this season! Get it here: http://www.dailylook.com/p/Bags/DAILYLOOK-Classic-Saddlebag-Purse/96248.html

2) Pastels/ Florals! (of course)

It wouldn’t be spring if pastels or florals weren’t still trendy. Yet thank goodness they both are! I am excited for both trends, as usual, and love how they twist the same style each year to make it just a bit different yet just as cute.

And again, you don’t have to splurge to wear this trend.

This lavender skirt is such a cute style with a sort of princess vibe to it. The crop top adds a trendy look to it, or you can add a more flow-y, cream colored top. Shop for it here: https://www.lulus.com/products/beauty-and-the-pleats-lavender-vegan-leather-midi-skirt/198850.html

This site also has many choices, so be sure to check it out for different styles and colors!

3) Fringe!

I am excited for this trend. You can definitely choose to go edgy or feminine with this look.

This skirt can be either subtle or showy, just depending on how you want to style it! But if you want to go more subtle yet keep the trend, try this cream colored top, also from H & M.

And if that is still too much for you, try a small crossbody bag with just a tad bit of fringe to it!

This purse is from Rebecca Minkoff. I just love her bags and think this one is absolutely adorable and worth the splurge! 🙂

So there you go! Those are just a couple of this year’s trends, and I can’t wait until it’s warm enough so I can start wearing pastels and florals, my usual favorite. 🙂

Hope you have a great day, wherever you are, and thanks for stopping by!

Until next time…

Fall Fashion!

I am SO excited that the weather is finally turning cold! This week will be in the 70’s, but hopefully it will go down to the 60’s soon. I know I am not the only person who loves sweater weather!! So today I thought I would show you my favorite fall outfits.

My number 1 outfit is the one below. Skirts, tights and a sweater tucked in with boots or heels is my favorite go-to look for the fall. It’s so simple to put together but such a cute finished look. Invest in a couple skater skirts and you’ll be prepared for the colder weather ahead!

This season, it’s all about layering. This first look is definitely casual and perfect for, say, an apple picking day! But I personally love the second look. It’s also a bit more casual, but at the same time, it’s very put together and perfect for a shopping day with friends. 🙂

This last look is one of my favorites for a comfy day. An oversized sweater is warm, comfy and cute. Can’t beat that! Just finish it off with leggings and boots (or heels, if you want to dress it up a little more) and you have an easy, put together look!

Be Colorful!

Be Colorful!

The other day I was talking to a lady who told me she always wore dull colors, such as black and gray. She considered herself to be overweight and thought dull colors could hide her imperfections. And while that may be so, she was depriving herself of what she really wanted. She told me she would just love to wear color and be able to pull it off. I did my best to persuade her to add more color, but she just couldn’t. I thought that was interesting. Though wearing dull colors may very well hide those extra pounds, it is not fun. Adding color to your wardrobe instantly lifts your mood and creates a positive outlook on life. It helps you feel better about yourself and your surroundings. So many people will only wear black and/or gray. And though that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it just honestly makes you look drab. So my advice to you to today, reader, is this. Add color to your wardrobe. Don’t be one of those people who only shop for dull pieces of clothing. If you just really really have to wear black or gray, stop by the scarf aisle or even the purse aisle. Pick you up a bright neon clutch, or a hot pink scarf. Add some blue heels to your outfit, and finish off with some bright, bold and big jewelry. And though you may still have a black top and bottom on, the colorful accessories will enhance your look and even make you smile. And if you’re willing to go even further, go buy some colorful pants! Be willing to step out and try new things. Don’t just go with you have been doing for the past so many years. Explore, have fun and be colorful.

If you’re anything like me, your wardrobe is mostly composed of scarves. I wear them all the time! They’re a great accessory to jazz up any outfit, and keep you warm during the winter months. However, wearing a scarf the same way, over and over, can become tiring. And not fun. Tying a scarf different ways always makes me feel happy, like I am wearing a completely new outfit, even if I have worn it before. So here is a youtube video that some of you may have already seen that shows fun, new and unique ways to tie your traditional scarf. Hope you enjoy!
